It’s been a while!
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here but have made something I’m really proud of and don’t have another platform where I can conveniently share it with people in my life. And since I run the server that this site lives on (and built the site myself), it’s still online and working.
To avoid burying the lede:

This is a painting I did of this photo:

As much as I’d love to say it’s a classically made painting, this was a paint-by-numbers I found at a hobby shop. I can claim a little extra credit, as a number of the paints had dried out completely and set by the time I got around to actually completing it, and had to mix 1/3 of the paints myself, either from acrylics I had on hand or from the included paints. There are a total of 21 distinct colors/hues/tones. I didn’t realize the paint was dried out because the first two were both solid, I thought they were supposed to be like that. I thought I would have to do ten coats of black because of how light and thin it was, even with acetone (I tried water and alcohol first no minimal result.)
This was super fun, and I’ll have a timelapse added to this post of the painting as it’s made. I filmed near all of it. It took just over 9 hours in total. I’m struggling with getting my phone to upload the 2hr final video to icloud, it keeps flipping into “pausing syncing to optimize performance” which says “not uploading” to me.
